New Beginnings...

Well in light off all the changes in my life, I figured I would take some new photos of myself! I found this dress at Target and fell in love... but it is WAY too short for me to actually wear OUT anywhere, so it's perfect for pictures :). However, the ruffles down the front don;t show up on the photos, and just make me look thicker than I am . Oh well! Anyways, they turned out fair I think.. please let me know your thoughts!

This one was overexposed straight out of the camera, but I really liked it, so I tried an "artistic" look to try to save it. I ended up looking like a ghost ;)

On this one, Cole just had to get in on the action... not a great photo, but I still LOVE it!! Thanks everyone for indulging me and looking at these ;). I am hoping to take Christmas card photos of Cole soon... I hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Words of Wisdom...

First of all, I know... Long time no blog. But hey, school ends next week & I promise I will get better ;).

Anyways, I have been making an effort to read my daily devotional EVERY day, and today's really struck me as relevant to EVERYONE...

"The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out." Proverbs 18:15

10 Steps to Wisdom:
1. Never make permanent decisions based on temporary circumstances.
2. Do not let your emotions blind you to reason.
3. Surround yourself with sharp people and draw on their gifts, without being intimidated by their expertise.
4. Take the time to consider all options.
5. You cannot fight successfully on every front, so choose your battles carefully.
6. Take the time to get all of the facts; conjecture leads to crisis.
7. Consider the consequences for each action.
8. Make sure your expectations do not exceed your resources and your potential.
9. Time is your most limited and valuable resource. Do not waste it.
10. Allow yourself a 10% risk of being wrong, a 50% likelihood of betrayal, and a 100% commitment to trust God, go forward and survive it all.

I will be back soon... in six days I will have my Master's Degree!!
I hope everyone has a fun and fabulous Sunday :)

WOW!

Okay, first of all, I am alive... just a very very bad blogger! I have been so busy it seems that blogging & my online friends and forums have suffered and I am so sorry about that! I will do my best to do better from here on out.

Secondly, SERIOUSLY, I cannot believe I was chosen as a runner up for MMM '09! I got the email this morning before a big meeting and only had a few seconds to let it sink in before I was out the door! Now I am in full hyperventilation mode... I never dreamed this would happen.. and I am SO blessed and thankful. With all that has been going on in my life, the layouts for the contest were the first I have scrapped in SIX MONTHS.

I learned my style has cleaned up and simplified some.... I have learned to take the focus off the "pretty" and onto the subject more (although I still LOVE pretty). I still do a lot of one-photo layouts, but mostly because I am not really an "event" scrapper... more of a "moment" scrapper. I like to find that particular moment in time and capture it. I have learned the importance of journaling... which I always struggled with. I have found that the photo can capture the moment perfectly to YOU, but someone else may not see what you felt.

Alright, enough rambling... I still think I am in a fog! I must get back to work... I have several clients to see this afternoon! Check back soon though... I promise I will post more often :). And thank you all for all the well-wishes!
